They saw none of the images as they progressed. Furthermore, the presentation is much too simple to captivate anyone that has other games at their disposal.
The Lemmings-style puzzles are much too difficult for younger players, while older players will be turned off by how bland and short-lived the overall product is. Review: March of the Penguins. The result is a brief, but complete, look into the world of one of the strangest and most determined creatures to have evolved in nature. I recently saw this film at the Waterfront Film Festival in Michigan and I can say it's one of the best documentaries I've ever seen. This one will keep you from ever feeling sorry for zoo-kept penguins again! This was a wonderful documentary directed by Luc Jacquet which follows penguins traveling to their breeding ground in Antarctica. I would have enjoyed the film better just by watching and listening to the soundtrack, with no narration. Just lots and lots of amazing feats in between. The cinematographer has managed to capture extreme close-ups where you can see the pattern of their feathers, as well as breath-taking longshots of hundreds of penguins marching on the beautiful icy backdrop. All Critics (184) Mr. Jacquet and his cinematographers, Laurent Chalet and Jerome Maison, have done the impossible task to capture these penguins in their own habitat under conditions that seem almost humanly impossible to live, let alone take this team to register it for us, the viewers in all its splendor and bleakness. If this comes to your town, do yourself a favor and see it on the big screen. After a long summer of feasting, their bodies stately and plump, the emperor penguins of Antarctica begin to feel, toward autumn, a need to march inland to the breeding grounds "where each and every one of them was born." The French filmmakers shot on super 16mm film for one year (with 120 hours of images), which is a whole winter cycle for the emperor. Likely will be more of a curiosity than a classic, "March of the Penguins" is nevertheless a fascinating and endearing experience that has that special unspeakable quality that few movies have. Fathers take turns in caring for the eggs until they hatch, while mothers walk long miles again to bring home food for the chicks. The other half of the game's levels involve guiding penguins through simple mazes.
It is a definite MUST SEE. Watch them march to the very extremes of extremis, though, and it's easy to feel awe. Some of the eggs and chicks freeze, and the parents' cries are painful to hear (probably more for us than for them). You could feel the pain that the parents felt when they realized that their chick had not survived. The narration is a little fanciful for my taste, and some of the shots seem funny to us but not to the penguins. I can't wait for the DVD, so I can see how the filmmakers did this. Published. For whatever reason, for thousands of years emperor penguins have made this same trek at exactly the same time of year to exactly the same place for the sole purpose of procreation. What most people don't understand is that this film is not a true documentary or natural history film. What's next, Rockstar's Bowling For Columbine on the PS3? Morgan Freeman's slick voice-over compounds a slightly plodding structure, but the dedication of the penguins -- and the cameramen -- assure your wonderment.

In this day and age of rotten and unremarkable characters in movies, Jacquet's little tuxedo birds share their trials, triumphs, tragedies and tribulations with no strings attached.
