Scottish director David Mackenzie's Perfect Sense, play with the best kind of futurism: just like today, except for one crucial difference. It made me want to do what they were doing; embrace someone. Pretty depressing, for some people maybe it's old sweet movie, uneven or whatever. What appears to have disappointed those who canned P-S is the minimal treatment of the science fiction vehicle driving the love story core; i.e., just enough treatment to make the "epidemic" plausible enough so we can grasp the presence and impact of human emotions, resilience, desire and needs. It's just that it's hard to make perfect sense of what director David MacKenzie had in mind. The Perfect Sense feels like it should have been a good movie but winds up not more than mediocre.
