According to my kindle, I made it 71% of the way through this book before I called the time of death. I feel like I’m reading someone’s personal diary that is not that interesting.
Trite sayings. This book is way overblown, I know authors who write books like this polish up conversations that they recount in order to make them more coherent and meaningful in the rear view mirror. Instead she thinks she is free by making her own rules not following His. translated by GENERAL BIOGRAPHY & MEMOIR Read it in one sitting.
Pretty much half this book for me was filed under “oh I’m SURE that’s exactly how it happened” *eye roll*. It’s the phrasing we’d use if we had years to reframe conversations and an editor to clean up the narrative.
4.7 out of 5. I think the real issue is that she's missing God in her life. I respect some people may like it but I don’t find it really insightful or novel. ‧

I wanted to love this book but I couldn’t even make it through the first third before deciding that it needs to be returned. Shorter pieces, some only a page in length, manage to effectively translate an emotional gut punch, as when Doyle’s therapist called her blooming extramarital lesbian love a “dangerous distraction.” Ultimately, the narrative is an in-depth look at a courageous woman eager to share the wealth of her experiences by embracing vulnerability and reclaiming her inner strength and resiliency.
