Haskins coached his 700th college victory Saturday night in a 66-64 victory over Southern Methodist. en especial a utep, Don Haskins with 1972 USA Basketball Olympic Team. I feel very honored to have seen this man coach the Miner's from his very first year through his retirement. I was in San Francisco last Monday when I happened to glance at the USA Today and it had a picture of Don Haskins and reported his death. He had a tremendous impact, not only on those who played for him, but also on those who just knew who he was. Don Haskins talks of Antoine Gillespie's kind-hearted ways. Thanks Coach.
